Overview #

Crosswalk Labs provides high-resolution emissions data to public and private-sector decision makers interested in using better, more granular data to inform their greenhouse gas mitigation efforts. Decision makers need to understand the factors behind the emission numbers to prioritize actions by sector and operation.

For emission inventories to be actionable, they must provide detailed resolution. Our framework ingests activity data from dozens of publicly available data and private data partnerships, and uses these data in mechanistic models to estimate emissions going back more than a decade. These estimates are now down to the census group block at the national level.

Crosswalk Labs’ granular estimates can be aggregated to any larger geographic area, such as a neighborhood, city, county, or state. This functionality allows for comparisons between different geographies and different spatial scales. Since we use a uniform methodology across the entire US, these methods allow for a true apples-to-apples comparison.

Crosswalk’s model is built to continuously integrate additional activity source data, including other gases and point-of-interest information, to deliver the most granular emission estimates available. If needed, we can provide custom solutions for various spatial and temporal granularity.
